SHHS May SOTR Advisory Council Meeting


What do you do with and for 10 amazing Sam Houston juniors who have each visited at least 4 amazing colleges and universities this school year during the summer between their junior and senior year of high school?

Or, expressed another way:

If donors invest in your future as an Emerging Leader, how do you pass on those gifts to others behind you this summer?

During the SHHS Student On The Rise May Advisory Council Meeting, May 5, at 1:15 PM in the Cherokee Room, we will explore this questions and develop a working plan that may include:

Demonstrate Academic Excellence through online enrichment classes (Edgenuity)

Market Tier 1 Universities on San Antonio's Eastside

Lead and/or support summer trips to amazing colleges and universities for members of the Class of 2019 and 2020

In addition, the Advisory Council Meeting will include a report from participants of the Late April Tour of Amazing Colleges in Boston.

  • Charles: Three points from your notes during the Northeastern visit

  • Rebecca: Three points from your notes during the MIT visit

  • Victoria: Three points from your notes during the Boston University Howard Thurman Center for the Common Good visit
